UNOFFICIAL FIRMWARENOT FROM ZOOM · COMMUNITY BUILDS
Community developers are writing their own custom firmware, also called alternative firmware, for the MS-70CDR. This is a selection, not every fork or experiment: we list the projects with a working build and a real following, and check them every day. FW Radar doesn’t host these files and doesn’t send alerts for their versions: each link opens the developer’s page.

Zoom Firmware Editor
by Barsik-Barbosik
Edits Zoom's firmware updater to add, remove or swap effects, for example to bring MS-50G drives and amps onto the MS-70CDR; you then run the edited updater like an official one.
Unofficial. Keep Zoom's original updater to go back. Not for the MS-70CDR+: the Plus models use another effect format.
Custom firmware built from Zoom's 2.10: Program Change and CC control of every effect and knob, MIDI clock with start and stop, a tempo screen with tap and tempo lock, faster scrolling and footswitch hold actions. One build for the MS-50G, MS-60B and MS-70CDR.
Unofficial. The builder runs on Windows (the user guide covers the Mac updater). Your patches and effects are kept; Zoom's 2.10 updater takes you back. Not for the Plus models.
READ THIS FIRSTAt your own risk, and it may void your warranty. Read the developer’s install notes, back up your presets, and make sure you know how to go back: official 2.10 and how to install it →
Running one of these?Mark it in your rig: the MS-70CDR won’t show as out of date, and you still hear about official updates.
An alert the day a new MS-70CDR firmware ships, by email, Telegram or push

The Zoom MS-70CDR is no longer made, but Zoom can still ship firmware for it and we keep checking the official download page. One message per release. No spam, no newsletter.
It’s written by independent developers, not by Zoom. Some projects are stable, others are early betas: read each developer’s notes before you flash.
Can I go back to the official firmware?
Yes: load the official 2.10 with Zoom MS-70CDR Firmware Updater, as described in the official update guide.
Why isn’t every MS-70CDR project listed?
We pick the ones worth trying: a build you can install and a real following, from GitHub stars and downloads or from the community. Forks that only rename a project or add a few presets stay out, and brand-new projects get a second look after their first week.
Does FW Radar track custom firmware versions?
We note the latest version each developer has published when we check the list, every day, but we don’t send alerts for it: alerts are only for official Zoom firmware.
