To update, connect Liven Ambient Ø to your PC/Mac via a USB-MIDI interface. Open the web updater in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge at https://www.sonicware.co.jp/exe/LIVEN_Series_Firmware_Updater_for_Ambient0_1_5.html — no software installation required. On the device, hold the Shift button while powering on to enter update standby mode. Select your MIDI interface in the browser, then press UPDATE. After the new version appears on the LED display, press OK. Alternatively, use MIDI-OX (Windows) or SysEx Librarian (Mac) to send the .syx file manually. A factory reset is recommended after update to load new preset patterns (this will erase all user data — back up first using the Preset Pattern Transfer app).
