How to update the Studio Electronics SE-1X

Download the OS update file from Studio Electronics' OS downloads page. Before updating: disable MIDI clock and set your MIDI interface to its slowest transmission speed (1MHz) -- sending the update at the wrong speed can permanently damage the Flash-ROM chip. Back up your ROM and RAM bank patches first. Load the MIDI update file into your sequencer/DAW and play it into the SE-1X like a normal MIDI track; confirm the OS update prompt when it appears. A successful update returns the unit to Bank 1, Patch 1.
