How to update the Sequential Prophet-6

Download the Prophet-6 OS zip from the Prophet-6 Operating System page and unzip it. Install a SysEx utility: SysEx Librarian on Mac or MIDI-OX on Windows. On the Prophet-6 press Globals, press program button 8 (MIDI SysEx) and choose USB or MIDI with the Bank/Tens buttons, then press Globals twice to exit (very old OS versions can only be updated over MIDI). Close other MIDI/DAW software and connect the Prophet-6 to the computer with a USB cable or a MIDI interface. Send the OS .syx file: in SysEx Librarian choose the Prophet-6 or your interface as Destination, add the file and click Play; in MIDI-OX set the Low Level Output Buffers Num and Size to 1024, then Load File and Send SysEx. Do not power off while the OS is being written. A long loading countdown is followed by a short writing countdown; the Prophet-6 then restarts by itself and shows the new version at power-up.
