What's new in 2.1.0

OS version 2.1.0 for the Prophet-5 and Prophet-10 adds a handful of new features, and a change to an existing feature, including per-program Filter Q Compensation, per-program adjustable Velocity and Aftertouch amounts, a new High Note Priority mode for Unison playing, and a Layer Link feature for controlling both patches simultaneously in a Split or Stack program.

How to update the Sequential Prophet 5 Rev4

Download the Prophet-5/10 OS zip from the Prophet-5/10 Operating System page and unzip it. Install a SysEx utility: SysEx Librarian on Mac or MIDI-OX on Windows. On the synth press Globals, press program button 6 (MIDI SysEx) and choose USB or MIDI with the Bank/Tens buttons, then press Globals twice to exit. Close other MIDI/DAW software and connect the synth to the computer with a USB cable or a MIDI interface. Send the OS .syx file: in SysEx Librarian choose the Prophet-5/10 or your interface as Destination, add the file and click Play; in MIDI-OX set the Low Level Output Buffers Num and Size to 1024, then Load File and Send SysEx. The download has a Main OS and a Panel OS: load them separately and power cycle after each one completes (wait for the display to read rst after the Panel OS). Do not power off while the OS is being written. After updating reset the Globals (hold RECORD and press GLOBALS).
