What's new in 1.3

1. NEW FEATURE : You can dim the brightness of the 8 switches. Press RELEASE switch while powering BOUM on. The DATA pot now controls the brightness in 4 steps. When you are ok with the brightness, swicth BOUM off and on. This setting is kept in memory. The brightness dim function is not applied on the submenus (Display mode, Local mode, …), the Preset save mode and the MIDI menu. 2. IMPROVEMENT : On previous revisions the first displayed preset number after startup was always 1.1, regardless of the last preset loaded or saved before BOUM was turned off. The number of the last preset loaded or saved before BOUM was turned off is displayed when you press PRESET after a power up. This is useful if you want to know which preset was used before BOUM was turned off.

How to update the OTO Machines BOUM

Download the BOUM firmware zip from otomachines.com/support/ and unzip the .syx file. Connect your MIDI interface's MIDI Out to the BOUM MIDI In. Open SysEx Librarian (Mac; set pause between messages and SysEx receive timeout to 1 second) or MIDI-OX (Windows) and select the interface. Switch BOUM on while holding ATTACK, RELEASE, LO CUT and DISTO until these four switches light up, then send the .syx file. The LEDs show the progress and BOUM restarts by itself when the update is done.
