How to update the Adafruit x0xb0x

1. Install the FTDI USB virtual COM port driver on your computer. 2. Download x0xb0x.hex from the newest folder of the x0xb0x firmware downloads. 3. With the x0xb0x switched off, set the FUNCTION knob to Bootload, then switch it on (turning the knob while it is on does not work). 4. Upload the .hex over USB with ladyada's uploader (c0ntr0l or JAvrProg, Java runtime required), then power-cycle. Patterns stored in EEPROM are kept.
