News v 1.33 - Bugfix: The HDSPe MADI FX hardware revision 2’s MADI I/O 1 and 2 were swapped. With the new firmware version 219 (Legacy) and 220 (DK) the assignment corresponds to the labels on the slot bracket and the manual.

How to update the RME HDSPe MADI FX

Download the Flash Update Tool HDSPe MADI FX & MADIface XT for your OS (fut_hdspe_fx_mac.zip or fut_hdspe_fx_win.zip) from rme-audio.de/downloads.html. With the card installed and its driver loaded, start the tool: it shows the current revision and whether an update is needed. The tool can flash Legacy or DriverKit-compatible firmware: choose the type that matches the driver you use, because a card flashed with the wrong type is no longer recognized by that driver and has to be reflashed on another OS or computer. Click Update and wait until the progress bar finishes. Then shut down and power off the computer to reset the card; a warm reboot is not enough. If the update fails, the card keeps working from its backup BIOS (Secure BIOS Technology); repeat the update on another computer.
