What's new in USB 21 DSP 25 CC 47

Update DSP of UFX III to 25, UFX II to 30: fix Expander Ratio was reset on boot to 1.0. Update Digiface Dante to CC 20: Device uses CC sample rate. Channel count follows sample rate range. All channels got names. Channel names are based on the channel count in Single, Double and Quad Speed mode and USB 2/3 mode.

How to update the RME Fireface UFX III

Download the RME Flash Update Tool for your OS (Mac: fut_madiface_mac.zip, Windows: fut_madiface_win.zip) from the RME downloads page. Connect the Fireface UFX III via USB 3. Run the Flash Update Tool and follow on-screen instructions. Do not interrupt power during flashing.

Update MADIface XT II to USB 323 CC 17, UFX III USB 21 CC 47. Optimizations for simultaneous use of audio, TotalMix level meter and MIDI.

Version USB 20 DSP 24 CC 46 — 27 Feb 2025

Update MADIface XT II to CC 15, UFX III to CC 46: the CC mode now supports the DriverKit driver 4.20 and higher. XT II CC: 96 kHz 22-channel mode did not work. UFX II DSP 29, UFX III DSP 24: if TotalMix is not recognized, the settings on the device and the functionality of the ARC USB stay available even when connected via USB.

Update UFX II DSP 28, UFX III DSP 23, MADIface XT II DSP 57: Function Mute Enable (Master Mute) did not work as Remap Key. Only MADIface XT II: key MIX did not remember any assigned remap command. MADIface XT II FPGA 321: Interface mode USB 2 and USB 3 were swapped.

Update UFX III to DSP 22, UFX II to DSP 27: Stand-alone mode revised. In stand-alone mode with sync to external clock, the device now follows the sample rate of the applied clock source (Word, SPDIF, AES) into the Double and Quad Speed range. For ADAT and MADI In there is a switch from Single to Double Speed if the ADAT input signal contains the matching status indication (all RME units have that at their ADAT outputs), or if the MADI input signal uses the 96k frame. For ADAT and MADI, however, there is no switching to Quad Speed, and no switching back to Single Speed (due to SMUX undefined state).

Update UFX II to DSP 26, UFX III to DSP 21: PEQ with Q 0.4 and F 20 kHz led to a loss of sound at Single Speed. Multiple RoomEQ delays and reverb active at Quad Speed could lead to loss of the FX signal. Optimized filter calculation for lowpass / highpass at lower Q-values.

Update ADI-2 Pro to DSP 128, 2/4 Pro to 40: Analog Input screen showed Loopback only after graphic refresh. DAC to DSP 62: since v56 'Load with EQ' no longer controlled the B/T function. UFX II to DSP 24, UFX III to DSP 19: VolCal higher than 0 dB prevented mute via channel fader.

Update UFX III and UFX II: added Room EQ and Crossfeed. Requires TotalMix FX 1.93 or up. Update UFX II independent use of AES, ADAT1 and ADAT2 as 3-way AES/SPDIF I/O. Requires latest driver.
