What's new in 1.01

<V1.00 to V1.01> - Raised the volume of the OUTPUT [L/MONO]/[R] jacks and the [PHONES] jack by 6dB. - Added a "Performance Direct Select" function in which you can switch the Performance number directly by pressing the [SHIFT] button and the Voice Category button simultaneously in the Performance Select display. While this function is enabled, you can change the performance number simply by pressing the Voice Category button, without needing to press the [SHIFT] button.

How to update the Yamaha MX49

Save your User Voices and Performances to a USB flash drive first: the update initializes all user data. Download the MX49/MX61 OS Updater zip from Yamaha and unzip it. Copy only the .PRG file to a USB flash drive of over 64 MB that was formatted on the MX, with no other files on it. Power off the MX, connect the drive to the USB [TO DEVICE] terminal, then hold [PLAY] while powering on. When '[PLAY]: Install' appears press [PLAY], then press [PLAY] again to start the update. When 'Completed' appears, turn the MX off, remove the drive and power it on again. Never switch off or remove the drive before the completion message.
