What's new in 1.8

Circuit v1.8 Firmware New features: - Non-quantised recording: capture synth and drum tracks directly to micro steps for rhythmically complex ideas. Record off the grid for wonky beats, quick-fire fills and authentic-sounding strums. - Synth micro step editing: edit synth lines at the microstep level, with six micro steps to every full step. Reposition notes off the grid, create subtle timing tweaks and fast triplets. - Per-note velocity tracking: notes recorded on the same step now maintain their velocities independently and can be manually edited afterward. - Assignable MIDI channels: set Synth 1, Synth 2 and Drums to whichever MIDI channels you like, from 1 to 15.

How to update the Novation Circuit

Connect Circuit to computer via USB. Open Novation Components at https://components.novationmusic.com in Chrome. Circuit appears automatically — click to update to firmware 1.8. To manually enter firmware mode, hold Scales, Notes and Velocity buttons simultaneously while powering on.
