What's new in 1.4.8

Improved interoperability with Milan devices by automatically reconnecting AVB streams after sample rate changes. Updated the controller to recognize AAF and CRF stream formats and improved automatic stream format selection when establishing connections. Fixes issues that could prevent the controller from switching the format of AAF streams to AM824 format or establishing connections between compatible AAF streams. Added support for vendor-specific sample rate change requests when controlling Milan-compatible MOTU devices. Improved handling of LISTENER_EXCLUSIVE status during AVB stream connection establishment. Fixed issues with Media Clock connection tracking. Implement vendor specific request for controller available timeout extension.

How to update the MOTU 828es

Connect the 828es to the computer with a USB cable or to the network with a standard Ethernet cable. Launch the MOTU Pro Audio Control web app (from MOTU Discovery, installed with the MOTU Pro Audio Installer) and go to the Device tab. With internet access, click More Info in the New Update Available banner, review the changes and click OK, then follow the on-screen instructions. Without internet, download the 828es firmware file from the MOTU downloads page, then in the Device tab scroll to the bottom, click Update from File and select it. On a Mac that normally uses USB or Thunderbolt, unplug the Ethernet cable after the update.
