How to update the Alexander Pedals Syntax Error

Download the Syntax Error firmware (.bin) and the DAD Firmware Updater (Mac or Windows) from the Alexander Pedals support page. Disconnect all other Disaster Area / Alexander pedals from the computer. With the pedal unplugged, hold the bypass footswitch and connect the pedal's USB Mini-B port to the computer with a data USB cable; release the footswitch when the updater shows "Pedal connected and ready". Click Choose Firmware, select the .bin file (check that the file name is for Syntax Error), click Upload Firmware, then Update. When "Upload complete" shows, unplug the pedal and plug it back in. Do not drag the file onto the DISASTER disk. On a Mac, the first time, allow Removable Volumes access for DAD Firmware Updater in Privacy & Security > Files and Folders.
