How to update the Roland Fantom-XR

Back up your data first: the update resets all user settings to factory presets. The newest update installs only on a Fantom-XR already running the Version 2 system. Download and unzip the System Update from the Updates & Drivers page. Insert a memory card formatted on the Fantom-XR, select MENU > USB Storage > Memory Card, connect the unit to your computer and replace the "Roland" folder on the card with the one from the download, then eject it and press EXIT. With the power off, insert the card, switch on, go to MENU > SYSTEM > System Version Info and press SHIFT, INC, DEC, INC, DEC to open UPDATE MODE. Press ARP, CURSOR Right twice, then ENTER. When the update completes, switch off, remove the card and switch on again. Full steps are in the readme.pdf inside the download.
