How to update the Novation Mininova

Novation has withdrawn the MiniNova installer (Editor, Librarian and firmware updater) and asks owners who need a firmware update to contact Novation support; its help centre also provides the current firmware as a SysEx (.syx) file. To install it, power on the MiniNova while holding Page Left, Page Right and OK to enter bootloader mode and connect it by USB. On a Mac, open SysEx Librarian, set MiniNova as the destination, drag in the .syx file and press Play; on Windows, open MIDI SysEx Transfer Utility, select MiniNova as the output port, open the .syx file and click Validate and Send SysEx. Do not turn off or disconnect the MiniNova during the transfer; it restarts when finished. The installed version is shown under Menu > Global (OS Ver).
