How to update the SOMA Laboratory Metaconformer

Connect METACONFORMER to your computer via USB. While holding the CFG button, press RST — the device boots into flash-drive mode (all LEDs light up) and appears as a USB drive on your computer. Download the firmware file from the SOMA website, copy it onto the device, and rename it to blink.bin. Press RST again to restart — the device boots up already flashed. Then disconnect. Do not flash unverified firmware: an interrupted or wrong update can cause unpredictable behavior and loss of saved patches. Note: SOMA also offers an alternate SimplexFM firmware (installed the same way) that turns METACONFORMER into a 4-track digital synth engine instead of a MIDI router.
