How to update the Roland TB-3

1. Download the TB-3 System Update from Roland and unzip tb3_sys_v110.zip (do not rename the file). 2. Hold [KEYBOARD] and [PTN SELECT] and switch on the power. 3. Connect the TB-3 to your computer with a USB cable; [KEYBOARD] blinks and a "TB-3" drive appears. 4. Copy TB3_UPD.BIN from the tb3_sys_v110 folder to the TB-3 drive (the file only, not the folder). 5. Eject the TB-3 drive and disconnect the USB cable; [XY PLAY] lights. 6. Press [XY PLAY] to start the update. Never switch off during the update. 7. When the eight buttons between [KEYBOARD] and [PLAY/STOP] blink, the update is done ([TEMPO] blinking means an error). Switch off. To check the version: hold [STEP REC] + [REALTIME REC] at power-on, then press [PLAY/STOP].
