How to update the Roland System-1 Plug-Out Synthesizer

Back up your patches first, because the update initializes the patch memory: hold [ARPEGGIO] while switching on, connect the USB cable and copy the files in the BACKUP folder of the SYSTEM-1 drive. Download and unzip the system program from the Roland support page. Hold [KEY HOLD] and switch on the power, then connect the SYSTEM-1 to your computer with a USB cable. Copy SYSTEM1_UPD.BIN into the SYSTEM-1 drive, eject it and disconnect the USB cable. Press [DOWN] to start the update; when the four buttons from [KEY HOLD] to [MOD] blink, switch off. Then do a factory reset (hold [MANUAL] while switching on, press [ARPEGGIO]) and copy your backup into the RESTORE folder if needed.
