How to update the monome grid

The iii firmware runs on 2022 and later grids (including grid one and grid zero); 2020-2021 and earlier editions cannot be updated to it. 1. Check the date printed on the corner of the circuit board to pick the right file: iii-grid-2022.uf2, iii-grid-one.uf2 or iii-grid-zero.uf2 (download from the monome iii releases page). 2. Remove the bottom screws and locate the golden pushbutton near the USB port. 3. Hold the button while connecting the grid to your computer: a USB drive appears. 4. Copy the .uf2 file to the drive. It unmounts immediately after copying (a macOS warning is harmless). 5. Disconnect and refit the screws, placing the spacers first. The iii firmware can toggle between iii and monome/serial (serialosc) modes, so the grid keeps working with norns and serialosc apps.
