What's new in 1.2.0
Update 2, presented in two flavors.
- “Silhouette_v120” is the canonical version which ships with new units.
- “Silhouette_v120_Whisper” is an optional modification for SHADOW, which avoids the faint clock noise that some find to be distracting. Note that this also halves the delay time of FOCUS. While you *could* just limit how far you push the FOCUS knob on the panel, the Whisper version also ensures that CV won't push the delay into the noisier regions.
Everything else that follows is true of both flavors:
- IMPROVEMENT: BLUR aliasing noise and distortion reduced
- CHANGE: magnetic attractor is more dynamic in asymmetry & runs more slowly
- CHANGE: CV input to FOCUS is shaped non-linearly to allow more subtle modulations
- FIX: clicks would happen in SHADOW output when FOCUS swept through 10:00 and 2:00
- FIX: background sound (left/right outputs) would distort with very fast SPOT modulation
- IMPROVEMENT: lights would flicker when FOCUS was set to shortest delay times
- NEW: “Whisper” option for 'cleaner' output sound, if desired

How to update the Mannequins Silhouette
1. Download the latest Silhouette .uf2 firmware file from the Whimsical Raps firmware page. An optional "Whisper" variant (cleaner SHADOW output, half the FOCUS delay time) is offered next to the standard file.
2. Keep the module powered via its ribbon cable. Reach the left edge of the module (pull it slightly out of the case or remove the module on its left) and connect the USB-C port on the lower circuit board, beneath the input jacks, to your computer.
3. Press and hold both buttons next to the USB port, release the button nearest the top of the module, then release the button next to the USB port. A drive named RPI-RP2 appears.
4. Drag the .uf2 file onto the RPI-RP2 drive. Silhouette restarts automatically and the drive ejects when the copy is done.

Update 1.
Initial firmware update after launch.
- FIX: Focus delay became steppy near 12:00 at the shortest times, now much smoother
- FIX: polarity of CV-provided SPOT modulation fixed (attenuverter acted backwards before)
- FIX: CV of Lens and Blur was inverted
- FIX: small amount of internal delay feedback deactivated, which makes feedback smoother across frequency range
- FIX: BBD tracking filter curve updated to better suppress clock noise at longest delay times
- IMPROVEMENT: reduced flickering of White lights when delay time is very short
- IMPROVEMENT: reduced clicks when modulating SPOT with a +/-5V sawtooth wave, which would occur when the input voltage jumped from +5v to -5v (or inverse)
- IMPROVEMENT: reduced Shadow output distortion when Focus nears 12:00
- CHANGE: Gravity internal modulation can now oscillate slower and faster than v1 (waveshapes are slightly altered as a result)
