This is a first experiment towards a possible future phone-friendly interface. Haken Editor reconnects again on Windows (despite Windows’ Midi 2.0 growing pains). New features that first appeared in 10.72: 32 new and improved WARBL-specific Default User Presets for EaganMatrix Micro (by Edmund Eagan, demo video coming soon). New WARBL presets Cheat Sheet available here. Formula X component includes Graph and Offset Graphs in transfer function choices. Formula XYZ and Blend include “Steep S” in transfer function choices. Runs on older MacOS (10.13 or later). For internally-expanded Thick Continuum 6x, we do not recommend this update, unless you plan to use the digital audio output. This firmware results in headphone output noise that we have not been able to track down.

Updated 25 February 2026 This new firmware includes Mac and PC Haken Editors that have been expertly programmed in C++ by Will Hoerner and Paul Haken. This multi-year effort results in functionality of the Editor and Firmware that is mostly the same as the previous release, but includes these notable improvements: Much faster to launch the Haken Editor program. New “Demo Assortment” presets for ContinuuMini, as suggested by Mini virtuoso Josh Madoff. All of these presets are on previous releases, but Josh selected a new subset for the Demo Assortment. Improved User Preset Group functionality. User Preset Groups are now zip files, easier to manage than folders with subfiles. Backwards compatible with unzipped User Preset Groups from previous firmware versions. User Preset Group can be dragged onto a User Preset Slot; the group will begin loading at that slot. User Preset Group can be created starting at any User Preset slot; select starting slot then alt/option-click on ending slot. New Group menu items to archive and load all 128 User Presets. Six assignable columns in Master Section of EaganMatrix. Each column can be assigned to one of the 20 Master Section (C2) controls. Assigned columns provide formula-controlled offsets to Master Section controls. Custom Description features for editing presets in the EaganMatrix. When viewing the EaganMatrix, the area below the matrix shows the preset’s Control Text. If you select a formula, the area below the matrix will show an optional description of the formula. You can edit the formula description. You can make formula descriptions for your own presets, or for System Presets you are studying. When viewing the System Library, the preset description of the selected preset appears on the right. You can edit the description of the selected preset.
