How to update the Akai MPX8 SD

Download the firmware zip from the Akai legacy downloads page and extract it. Copy the MPX8_UPD.DAT file to the root of an SD card formatted FAT16 or FAT32 and insert the card into the MPX8. Hold Select + and Volume + while powering the MPX8 on, then release the buttons. Press Volume + when prompted, and press it again to confirm. Do not remove the card or switch off while the display shows the progress. When the display shows Complete, power-cycle the MPX8.
