How to update the Studiologic SL88 Grand

Install the latest SL Editor (Windows/macOS) and download the SL88 Grand firmware from the Studiologic SL Keyboards firmware page; unzip it to get the .syx file. Before updating, back up your presets by saving a PROJECT file in SL Editor. Connect the SL88 Grand to the computer via USB and turn it on while pressing the top IN button: the display shows FIRMWARE UPGRADE (the number shown there is the bootloader version). Open SL Editor and, on the GLOBAL / MIDI page, set SL DEVICE PORT 2 (MIDI 2, SL-DEVICE) as both input and output device; do not click CONNECT. Select the .syx firmware file, click TRANSMIT and wait for the end of the procedure, then switch the instrument off and on again. Do not power off during the update.
