No updatable firmware on the Akai MPD226
It is analog or fixed-function hardware, so there is nothing to update.
You can still add it to your rig to keep an inventory and track its used market price.
Firmware updates for the MPD226 are delivered as SysEx files via the MPD226 Editor software. Register the product at your Akai account (akaipro.com) to access firmware downloads. To update: open MPD226 Editor, go to View > SysEx, load the firmware file, and click Send SysEx File. To check the current firmware version on the device, press GLOBAL then use the right arrow button until the firmware version appears on the screen.
