Firmware is updated via MIDI SysEx over a standard DIN MIDI connection. Enter bootloader mode by holding the Tap button while powering on (all bottom-row LEDs light solid). Connect MIDI Out from a computer to the MF-104M MIDI In, then use SysEx librarian software (SysEx Librarian on Mac, MIDI-OX on Windows) to send the firmware .syx file. The LEVEL LED blinks during transmission. After transfer, the unit reboots automatically. Buffer settings in SysEx software may need adjustment (e.g., 256-byte packet size) to avoid stalls.
